I grew up in China and have been living in Singapore since 2000. I am active in sports and outdoor activities and love reading. My teaching philosophy revolves around sharing my knowledge about the subject matter (this includes but is not limited to concept explanation and exam techniques) and its relationship with the world (why we learn what we learn and how it can be applied in the real world). I understand that each person is different and requires different approaches and methods to support, hence all my classes (including each session) will be different to cater to the needs of my students. However, my principles of teaching (being patient, understanding the areas of strengths and weaknesses of the student, engaging the student etc) stay consistent. I work towards helping my students achieve the results that they aimed for, using the method that suits their capabilities, capacities, and environment. At the end of the day, I intend for all my students to not only achieve the results but also begin to enjoy learning such that it truly benefits them in the long run (in the next stages of their lives to come).
