I am from Taiwan, I am currently taking Diploma In Teaching Chinese language in Confucius Institute Nanyang Technological University. I speak fluent English and Mandarin. And I am passion in teaching.

Have been a teacher with MOE past 30 years. Taught English language and Literature for upper and lower secondary pupils. I love to read widely.

I am a year 2 undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS), majoring in English Language and Linguistics (ELL), and pursuing a double minor in History and Political Science. I have 2 years of tutoring experience and I am currently teaching P5 English and Sec 4(NA) English. I am able to teach English and Math at the primary school level, and the following subjects at the secondary school level: English, History, Mathematics, Literature, History and Social Studies. I did the International Baccalaureate with St. Joseph’s Institution in 2018 and I was in the 6-year Integrated Programme (IP). I specialise in English and History, and I am keen on research as well. I aim to instil into students analytical frameworks and encourage critical thinking, equipping them with the necessary skills that will not only assist them at their current level but prepare them for tertiary education as well. Personality wise I am easy-going and I tend to develop a rapport with my students, which enables me to better understand their needs and learning styles. I take great pleasure in helping students grow in confidence and character, and I have helped a student who was scoring C5 in English to score A1 within 2 terms. I place emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and a broadened worldview which naturally translates into results.

I’m a professional English trainer and tutor with more than 10 years of experience in teaching school going students and working adults to improve their language proficiency. I am teach Social Studies, History and General Paper. The students I’ve mentored have performed well after initially struggling with the work. I am acutely aware that different individuals have different learning needs. Therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to the individual. As a journalist with more than 10 years of experience writing for the Straits Times and AsianInvestor, I am highly competent in using the English language and I take extreme pride and pleasure in teaching others to do so.
