About me: Specialised in teaching English to both local and international students. Over the years, I have developed a good knowledge of English based on the syllabus. I am a year 2 undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS), majoring in English Language and Linguistics (ELL), and pursuing a double minor in History and Political Science. I have 2 years of tutoring experience and I am currently teaching P5 English and Sec 4(NA) English. I am able to teach English and Math at the primary school level, and the following subjects at the secondary school level: English, History, Mathematics, Literature, History and Social Studies. I place emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and a broadened worldview which naturally translates into results.

I’m a professional English trainer and tutor with more than 10 years of experience in teaching school going students and working adults to improve their language proficiency. I am teach Social Studies, History and General Paper. The students I’ve mentored have performed well after initially struggling with the work. I am acutely aware that different individuals have different learning needs. Therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to the individual. A girl with cerebral palsy, from F9 grade for O level combined science physics/chemistry at the start of her sec5NA, attained B4 for O level pure physics and pure chemistry.

 

An ex-convict, 24 years old, engaged me to prepare him for N level combined science(phy/chem) and E maths. After a few lessons with me, he was more confident and registered for O LEVEL instead.

Unfortunately, he committed smoking offence after only took his English papers, and was barred from taking other papers.

I have been teaching English and Social Studies in schools for more than 4 years. During my free time, I enjoy playing sports, practising yoga, watching Netflix and travelling!
