I’m a current MOE school teacher with 30 years experience.I can teach Tamil Language for all levels.I can also teach English & Maths for Primary 1 & 2.

Ex MOE tutor with more than 20 years teaching and tutoring experience. I am a motivated and patient and result oriented tutor. I enjoy helping students overcome their difficulties and excel. I adopt a result oriented approach, allowing my students to make small incremental improvement to learning both fundamental and application skills.
Many of my students have shown much improvement. Primary students advanced to Express/IP/IB in secondary. Most Secondary students achieved B3 and above (A1/A2).

My specialisation is in tutoring JC H2 and H3 Physics, but I am confident of tutoring Mathematics at the Secondary and JC levels as well.
While I have not officially taught or tutored JC students, I have experience in teaching weaker schoolmates in JC 1 and 2. My proudest achievement in teaching would be helping my friend improve his Physics from a D to B in JC 1 within two months. Below are some of the key ingredients to successful teaching that I picked up and applied along the way.
First and foremost, would be the manner of explanation one utilises. While our academic system sometimes requires memory work (definitions, abstract formulae etc), I strongly believe that a clear division should be drawn between what should be memorised and what should be understood. Certain basic ideas or calculations, such as the derivation of the force due to gravity acting on an object on a inclined slope (F = mg sin θ), should be thoroughly taught to and understood by students to the extent that they are comfortable deriving them from first principles during a major exam (in this case, via vector resolution of forces in tandem with basic trigonometry), rather than just relying on memorising an answer sheet. While fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject, this approach to teaching would also build students’ confidence and assurance that what they are applying is based on sound logic, rather than blind memorisation.
Second, the need for application. A strong understanding of subject matter will not translate to exceptional marks if one does not see how individual concepts fit together as part of the bigger picture. Application can come in two forms: seeing physics at work in real-world contexts and applying concepts to solve exam questions. A well-thought out revision system will include elements of both: First, to develop in students an intuition for how scenarios can be expected to play out. Next, to build their confidence and check and reinforce their understanding by applying new concepts in exam questions, possibly with concepts integrated across multiple topics.
Lastly, the value of imparting exam skills. While understanding subject content and practising questions are important, there are some other tips and tricks that can provide a boost to students’ prospects. One key to success in physics exams is the ability to quickly identify the specific topics, concepts and equations likely to be relevant to solving any given question. For example, while solving for the maximum extension of a spring-mass system in SHM, it can be easy for students to fall into the trap of thinking that this can be solved by taking x = mg/k. A well-trained student would focus on the fact that the system is in SHM and hence undergoing acceleration at its lowest point, indicating that an energy solution is required, instead of solving for Fnet = 0. I believe that by value-adding some of these little points, I will be able to set up my students for success.
Teaching ability side, expertise is also critical to being a successful tutor. Apart from my capacity to absorb and apply knowledge, as demonstrated by my achievement of 90 RP in the 2021 A Level Examinations, I also have the ability to dive deep into advanced subject matter beyond the A Level Syllabus. Apart from achieving a Distinction in H3 Physics during the A Levels, I also sat for the ENGAA in 2022 as part of my successful application to Cambridge Engineering, where I achieved a maximum score of 9.0 for the Advanced Physics portion of the assessment. This was only attained by 2% of applicants. I believe this demonstrates my strong understanding of the underlying concepts in Physics, as well as in Mathematics (since success in H3 Physics is contingent on competence in algebraic manipulation and calculus). I am confident that rather than superficial touch-and-go tutoring meant to achieve the bare minimum of keeping a tutee up to date with the academic syllabus, I will be able to work with my tutees to develop in them a strong foundational understanding of the underlying concepts.

Engineering graduate and also was a school teacher for a short period in Fuchun Sec teacher Maths & Science subjects.

No formal tuition experience yet, but used to teach classmates on an ad hoc basis
Pending A Level Results

Hello, my name is Enrica. I have graduated from Temasek Polytechnic holding a Diploma Food, Nutrition and Culinary science. I am currently taking an Advance Diploma work-study programme under Applied Food Science in Singapore Polytechnic.
While going back to school once a week, I am also currently working for Nestlé R&D Centre for experience. I took up this as I would like to earn some extra income and save up for my University fees. I would describe myself as someone patient and caring. I love being around children as they are always happy and I am always intrigued by their pure hearts. I have no prior experience in tutoring but I will put in my best to bring out your child’s potential.
I used to volunteer as an Art teacher at Very Special Arts (VSA) where I teach kids with special needs (autism) art. Through this experience, it made me realised that I enjoy teaching, guiding and working around kids. It has instilled values like patience as well as kindness in me. I am also looking forward to studying a double degree in both psychology and sociology in the future.

✅ Get to know student’s weakest point first and build up their confidence.
✅ Tips to score well on various sections
✅ Ensure that they have a strong base and foundation
✅ On my part, to be prepared before lessons and prepare extra materials for student.
✅ Always to be patient and not get frustrated while guiding and teaching student.
✅ To teach them wholeheartedly and make lessons as enjoyable as possible to get student to love the subject as well
As for teaching methods, in summary,
English: strengthening foundations such as grammar rules as well as introducing vocabulary words weekly to enhance one’s knowledge which can be used timely when writing composition
Chinese: introducing vocabulary words weekly, common useful phrases to be used in composition as well as building one’s confidence
Science: build strong foundation with children by ensuring concepts are easy to grasp and understand. To also introduce different ways to visualise concepts such as mindmaps

Most students graduate to top schools Nan Hua, Hwa Chong, Cedar Girls, RI. Students who started late but willing to put in hard work get into medium schools such as Swiss Cottage.
Currently working under an agency doing p1-6 online composition markings.
Testimonials of parents and students available on request.

I like gardening. I’ve been a pr school teacher for more than 30 years. I started as an EMS teacher then specialises in art education the last 5 years. I am an experienced private tutor for many years too. In fact I find private tutoring more rewarding as the student is more focused and I can help him/her learn concepts better.

I am an ex-teacher many years ago, teaching Business English in a private institution. My students comprised of 20 working adults in classroom. Lessons were conducted once a week.
My last job was a public relations officer for 7 years, serving HDB residents.
Currently I’m in my 70s.
I now wish to provide English tuition to update myself.

Been tutoring upper block math and science for 10 years. Produce quality results from AL6 to AL1, consistently getting AL1 results for three years in a row, getting pupils to improve from failure to 75. Results of improvement depends on many factors like answering techniques and student receptive to feedback. Takes both hands to clap.
FAQ
Hmm……
The likely reason is that your criteria is too restrictive. Most tutors do not teach more than 3 subjects at any level. Another factor might be your subject/s of interest has a tutor group predominantly of a particular gender. Insisting on another gender would restrict your available choices.
Many tutors prefer not to be listed online. Like most of us, we treasure our privacy. Contact us directly. Our tuition Specialists will have tutors in their private vault. We can match you with one of them for sure!
Our tutor database is always growing. The tutor profiles has detailed listing of Tutor Qualification, Tutoring Areas & Tutoring Levels & Subjects. There is also a Tutor Bio where the respective tutoring styles, experience & previous students’ results are illustrated.

Yes; this is the main pitfall of choice, you have to make one. If you find you have 3 or more tutors that fit all your criteria, it is not done yet. These tutors still need to have the availability to take the student at some prescribed schedule.
We recommend that you send us at least 3 choices & we will contact your choices with your schedule. From this we can see, who is the best fit!

Online Tuition is only recommended for students in Primary 4 and above. Home Tuition caters to students of any age.
We would recommended Home Tuition for weaker students who need the benefits of face to face instruction. Online Tuition works best for independent students who exhibit fair to good subject proficiency.
You can talk to us & we can decide the best course of action according to your student’s learning profile.
Uploading a Profile Image is at the sole discretion of the tutor. Some may rather not show the personal image for public viewing.
In any case, the tutors’ appearance has no bearing on their ability to teach.
This is THE magical question. So whats the answer?
Yes you can. We will connect the selected tutor via Zoom or Google Meet
However, before we proceed, we need to firm up the following details.
- Fee
- Tuition Schedule
You can start as early as the next day or maybe even sooner. This all depends on tutor availability.
It is best to know your student’s learning profile & make arrangements early. One does not wake up one moring & decide their child is weak in Math. The signs will be evident months before tuition is even considered.
We urge all parents to be aware of their child’s difficulties & take action promptly.
Short answer, NO! Good results are an indication of subject proficiency. All students do not start from the same level so it might take longer for some rather than others.
We would insist on at least 3 months of tuition to see any improvement for an average student. Weaker student will most probably take longer.
Please do not wait till 1 month before major exams to book a tutor. It will help clear some concepts & doubts. There is definitely no time to lay foundation.
Tutors with higher qualification & more years of experience will normally cost more. This is just the market force of demand & supply. It is best to decide on your budget & we can help you get the best tutor for that budget.
Send us your tuition requirements & we can start to work something out as soon as possible
