I have taught tuition for about close to 2 years now. Currently, I’m teaching tuition for P5 Chinese and Sec 4 Chinese. Within the past two years, I have also taught P4 Chinese, P4 Mathematics as well as Sec 3 NA Mathematics. Through all these tutoring experiences, I have learnt how to better prepare myself for each tuition class. I have learnt how to gather study resources such as subject notes and practice papers that can better aid my students in their learning. My teaching style is that I will seek to understand the students’ strengths and weaknesses first during the first few lessons. This can be assessed through their past exam papers (Both Paper 1 and Paper 2). Subsequently, I will work with the student to see what are some of his likes and dislikes with regards to lesson. After getting to know the student better will I then be able to help the student in a learning style that better suits him. I’m a tutor that will make my lessons more interactive. A few of my past students have feedbacked that they learnt alot from my lessons. My tuitions have proven to be effective in helping my students as I have seen my P4 Math student improve from a Band 3 to a Band 1 within 1/2 a year of tutoring.
